Funen Art Academy is a nationally recognized, higher education offering an international education in artistic practice at a highly specialized level. It is a 5-year education, and the students are entitled to receive SU (a study grant from the Danish State Education Grant and Loan Scheme).

Funen Art Academy offers workshop-based teaching with an emphasis on both practice and theory.

Funen Art Academy has three primary subject lines:
- Picture-based Practice
- Conceptual practice
- Digital media

Funen Art Academy has an international program and offers teaching by both Danish and foreign artists. There are three permanently employed, subject instructors all of whom are artists, one teacher in Art History and Art Theory as well as several external teachers from Denmark and other countries who run workshops and present lectures.  

Funen Art Academy is situated within the Brandt Complex in Odense on the island called Fyn or, in English, Funen (link to Odense or a map of Denmark), which is about 1.5 hours’ drive from Copenhagen.

Funen Art Academy is an independent institution receiving grants from the District Council, the County, and the Danish State.
